A Doggy Christmas 2013

A day by ourselves because of all our 15 dogs.  No stress needed. A beautiful day warm day.

Yes sir those are our babies.

WE welcome 13 new puppies this Christmas season. 

The top picture is Taffy's litter at 2 days old.  Then is Coco's at 1 week old.

Christmas Box of chocolate mutts

28th was a pretty exciting day as Coco whelped 7 babies...again.  They are tiny as peanuts.  The boys outnumber the girls 5:2   Christmas Carol, Angel Wings, Peppermint Stick, George Frederick Handel,  Gingerbread Boy,  Drummer Boy, Peanut Brittle (or Almond Bark.)

Waiting Mode

We are waiting now for the new litters.  Always exciting.  I hope there is a pretty little girl coming to be my next dog.  Jazzmyn  "Jazzy"

September Saga

Coco and Taffy have gone to visit their male friends at Joya's so I have been filling time with crocheting.  Thanks to vendulka in Ostrava for her patterns on Etsy.  I am supporting her with all my downloads.

45th Anniversary

Fun celebrating our anniversary.  We went up Calgary Tower for lunch.  It was a nice day to reflect and enjoy how far we have come.  Took the long walk to the peace bridge and crossed it.   We realized we were not young any more.
On the 31st we went to Prairie Smoke for an amazing  Breakfast and then drove to Elbow Falls.  Apparently the flood of June has totally changed things but we enjoyed it anyway.

Summer vacation JUly 25 2013

Had a wonderful one day vacation to Banff and up the Gondola lift.

Emmanuelle couldn't breathe so Jenny called 911 and Manu went to Children's Hospital.  They came back at 5am.  Croup.  Jenny decided no more rehearsals and took her sick kids home.  Taffy knew Manu was sick and stuck beside her.

flood of the century

Quite a flood.  State of emergency in Calgary.  Korey and Jenny and kids were stranded at our house cuz they couldn't get to the south of Calgary. High River and Nanton were closed highway.  The whole town of High River was flooded.  So sad to see such devastation.  The emergency crews are amazing.

Farewell puppies

My last puppy to go to a new home.
10 puppies have gone in just a few weeks.  IN some ways I am relieved and in need of a break, but always a piece of my heart goes with each baby.

Sugar's babies

Sure was nice to have a visit with The Vaceys and Sugar's babies, Chip and Chut  They were terrified of all the puppies so they stayed safe on the lawn chair,

A generous friend

A birthday gift is not a common occurrence for me.  But I have the blessing of a good friend who is most generous.

off to work and dream

 Michelle officially opened her European fabric shop at Addies in Cochrane.  It's  whole new concept of fabric and possibilities so people don't know how to take it.  She has started the fulfillment of her 5 year old dream.

Christmas in April 2013

May as well start with Christmas projects.  It is snowing outside and we just experienced a winter storm.

Mama alerts

Coco has an open door for the night, so she can come and go at will.  Last night, there was a sharp bark at the our bedroom door.

My reaction exactly

Let me show you haw much I hate birds.  Ya I know they are pretty and some can sing, but that is where it ends.  I can tell you the location of every bird in the region.

  That's how much they scare me.

birth nest

Ashia is capable of strange things.  As part of her preparation for her babies, she readied this nest in the box spring of our bed.  I heard her working there. when she was in labor, we couldn't find her until Bob spotted her leg hanging out from the mattress.  ON the 2nd of April, she birthed 5 babies in the proper birthing kennel.

More please!

Coco delivered 7 puppies this afternoon.  Thought it would be 3.  After a series of events, the last one surprised me at 5 pm.  Mama is busy. 3 girls:  Rosie, Poppy and Lilac.  4 boys: Gus, Bud, Lark and Digger.  Courtesy Coco and Basil.
