Claire where are you?

Finding a picture of Claire is impossible. She is like her Nana...she doesn't do pictures.

Things I never thought I would see:

Bob holding a wine glass and enjoying it

A mermaid at the manger

So this is Christmas

It is so special to be near our kids for the Christmas season. Korey cooked a superb turkey and Jenny did a fine job of hosting us all. Michelle and Colin brought their specialties...brussel sprouts with bacon and gingerbread with creme de brule.

Emmeline is learning to use the new embroidery machine. This is her first project.

Mountain views

I love the many moods of the mountain ridge where I am privileged to live. Can't get away from the chinook arch which means wind and warmer temps.

Beepers

My house is full of beepers. Washer on, washer off...the same for the dryer and the dishwasher. Musical chimes, no less.
Michelle's phone and Colin's phone and my phone.. a different ring for a call and or a text or an email blip.
The coffee maker, the microwave with a reminder every few seconds, the oven timer which won't shut off until you come and shut it off. And don't forget the heat smoke alarm. Oh, and the breadmaker...15 beeps to tell me that it's time to add raisins (that happens so seldom), 10 beeps to say the bread is done. The smell of fresh bread isn't reliable? Today the refrigerator beeped to tell me that I had the door open too long and the temp was rising. So much for sorting the oranges and removing the rotten ones.
To add to the mix, there is the recent acquisition of a book of Christmas songs that repeats over and over and over. Then you get to try playing the tunes.
Jingle Bells is not my favorite tune.

snow storm and moving

The storm brought it's hazards. The U Haul got stuck and neighbors got into action. The garage managed to hold it all. We were unloaded by 1 pm. Everyone is happy to be safely home. Our house is full to the rafters.

Embroidery at it's finest #1

So guess what I bought? Never in my lifetime have I wanted an embroidery machine. I did this pattern in 10 minutes. My Oma would have spent days doing this pattern on her flour sack dishtowels. Michelle has many ideas and plans and I hope I can help by learning to use this machine.

Dear Megi

Dear Megi
You are an incredible dog. You gently ask for my love and approval. Those big luminous eyes show your heart. Somehow my hand on your head is all you ask. You do not fight grooming. You share your limited world with your dog mates who are still wild pups. You wait to be presented with your yogurt treat...now that is courtesy. You patiently walk beside me as I fight with the leashes on Sugar and Coco. I can tell you love every minute of our walk. Your new pups are gone except for Licorice. You care for Licorice when she cries for her siblings and at night as I tuck her in with you, you let her sleep on your chest and put a loving arm around her for comfort. I know you like your privacy and would rather be left alone in your crate. Thankyou dear girl.

Alpha comes home

The puppies arrived today. Michelle and I took a trip to Linden to pick up the babies. Claire and Caramel seem to be tightly bonded. The half bath on main floor is the official home of the babies.

My new home in Cochrane. So far I love it.

St Augustine's parish

My last Sunday with some of my favorite people. How will I be remembered? That thought kind of haunts me.

To Da Dump To Da Dump to da dump, dump dump

2 loads of this went to the landfill. It was a huge task to be ruthless. How many boxes of books do you need when you can get books on the internet? Bob threw out seminary texts that he hasn't looked at for 30+ years. I might have another load tomorrow after packing the dishes.

Mahogany home

Spent a morning at M&C's new digs. Well, at this point it is still a dream. So many playgrounds and a serene neighborhood. Feel so happy for this dear family of mine.

Birds are the enemy

Another reason why I need to leave Coalhurst.

yogurt glue

I was saying that I needed to find out how to make my yogurt to have a little thicker consistency. Claire says "No Nana, I like yogurt glue."

Lower level entrance

The door has been cut and is in place. Lots of concern and work for Bob

first yogurt attempt

My first attempt at making yogurt. The puppies love it and so do Bob and I. Tomorrow we taste it. It seems too easy to be true.

The letter "C"

We are having problems remembering where we live and where we are moving to...Coalhurst, Cardston, Calgary, Cochrane, Canmore, Coleman, Coaldale, Claresholm, etc. etc...... The there is Colin, Claire, Carla, Coco, Korey, Kris, and Canada. We are rich in C's.

Stressful weight woes

Why, in a time of stress does Bob not eat and I eat more than ever??
