Get the picture . It's 7a.m. and I am in my tattered bathrobe and slippers, playing fetch with Paprika in the backyard. Sometimes I think I should dress up in my normal clothes and personally go to each neighbor to say that "Yes I am in my right mind"...most of the time.

a long weekend??

You know you're old and retired when you didn't realize this was a long weekend. Do I need a holiday?

laptop woes

The day has come when Bob is trying to learn how to use his laptop. That sounds like totally incorrect grammar.

All in a day's work

It is early morning and Paprika has already piddled on the carpet, escaped from the front door and rearranged the furniture.

Mud never changes

Emmeline and Claire played in the mud and were covered from head to foot and stripped down before getting in the van. oh what fun.

Monday morning

A fun morning at the gazebo park. Papa and Emmeline rode their bikes around the lake and Claire and Emmanuelle took turns on the trike. Nana and Paprika and Simon did their own thing.

a perfect evening

A perfect day. Warm sun, but not blistering hot, cool enough breeze to keep mosquitos away, time at the beach eating "tiger tiger" ice cream and sharing it with Claire, watching Gkids have so much fun, family, hot dogs and a bon fire. Papa made blueberry pies using the camp irons.

Bob and I chose the same time to put teeth whitener strips on our teeth. Try to carry on a conversation that way.

Park lake

A day at the lake with 4 little ones and Paprika and 4 adults is not bad...but tiring.

I am wondering why when I am standing out in the middle of my yard in the freezing cold, with a coat on, my neighbors a/c goes on.

To take an afternoon nap means I am hooked up: heating pad control in my left hand, Radio on my tummy (to reduce static), dog leash in my right hand to keep Paprika on her blankey and when I remember the phone is on the dresser beside me.

Sure feel sad about our neighbors divorcing and the house going up for sale. Quoting Dr. Phil, "It is the children who pay."

waiting for adult kids

Waiting for adult children to come for lunch is different than the little people that they used to be. I love watching, with pride, as each family comes in the door along with all the hugs and smiles of the GKids.

It was nice to sit and watch Emmeline string beads to make bracelets for Jill and Claire. She loves patterns. Mom, "Oma" you would love her. She is so much like you. I miss you.

Canada Day...143 years old. Today I am thankful for my country. It has been good to us.
