Precious time

The weeks seem to get shorter and fly by faster when you are old. Today I did my Tuesday chores and it seemed like I just did the same things yesterday. Time is precious these days. Happy birthday to my little brother Billy. He is 5 years younger than me but always my little brother.

Last week of 65

Time to start my week before my birthday... Sometimes I think I should celebrate my last days of being 65 with more fun and gusto than thinking about graduating to 66. Will try and attempt that.

Sunday benches

The church benches get harder as you get older. That is one reason why I like St Auggies...the sermons aren't so long and we can kneel on padded benches for prayers.

Happy Birthday to my firstborn. Many good memories of his life. A wonderful son that makes me proud.

Grandma's charm

My Grandma charm bracelet. A precious stone for each grand baby, and Molly and Jesus. Claire can name each birthstone for each child. She sure knows that hers is the diamond.

Baby Einstein returns

Every grandchild means a re-run of Baby Einstein for Nana. Emmanuelle says "stein" and points to the computer. It is her pre-dinner treat.

You know your family and pet collection is growing when you have to buy another picture frame because the first one is full.

Family Celebrations

Birthday party for Claire tonight. Those red boots are an important part of her clothing style. Today she is not wearing her tu-tu over everything.

favorite chair

Why does my favorite chair need to look so ugly? At the same time it looks and feels comfy.

April power

Our electricity was off for 7 hours. It was a freak ice storm and caused a lot of damage.

blizzard warning

We got a lot of wet snow and lived without power for about 7 hours. How dependent we are on electricity and internet.

Such beauty in the wind and the cold.

What's the point?

Emmeline came back from her Sunday school class and in a very loud whisper informed me that they didn't teach her anything about Jesus.

d's and dil's

Today I am thankful for thoughtful daughters and daughters in law. They are so willing to help out with family dinners. Thanks my lovely girls. You always know when I need a hand. Michelle. the cream puffs were incredible. Jenny, you make the best pasta sauce. Carla, you sure do know how to set a table for 14.

Kris's comment, "Mom this is what your family sounds like" You'd have to be here to understand the happy noise level.

A good day

A good day starts with coffee and ends with banana cream pie and lots of laughs.
Emmanuelle learned some ballet moves...hands over her head and "ta-Da". Clairi eating some supper just so she could have some pie. Emme needing alone time in the computer room.

-1+-1 =2

2 negatives equal a positive. Does that mean 2 imperfect parents can have perfect kids?? And "some of both" GKids?

Hmm I got the DVD player to work first time around

relax

How much does it really matter to be making such a fuss?
Bob goes for training. Can't you see a bunch of old ladies telling him what to do? It gets harder as you get older.

shoe horn

No this is not a cane. It is a shoe horn which I seem to need lately. One step closer to a cane tho.

good and bad

It was fun digging in the dirt today. Not having wind sure helps. I love to dig with my fingers...sans gloves. The sensation of touch, I hope it always stays normal. What do I love to touch? baby skin, rose petals, dirt yielding to my strength, soft, silky ears of a spaniel and a warm facecloth in the morning.
On a sad note: Rosie left us to go to her new home in Raymond.

Bird song

I have a strong dislike for birds. I hate sea gulls that chase me and grab chicken out of my hand, magpies, squawky bluejays, woodpeckers that hang on the cedar shingles above the bathroom window and do their stuff, blackbirds that sit on the neighbor's deck, tease the dogs, and eat their food and falcons that crash into the big front room window and look so dazed. Anything (red wing blackbirds in Coalhurst) that swoops at me is bad news.
Consequently, I am aware of every bird in my scope. Yes, I hear and appreciate the song of the meadowlark, (they have never bothered me), the evensong of the robins, the beauty of the bluebirds around Ashcroft BC, the eagles swooping for salmon in the Thompson River, and the amazing flight of the hummingbird. So now you know.

T.G.I.F.

Experienced a thirst for water during the service.
"Holy God, holy and mighty, holy, immortal one, have mercy upon us"

THE PRAYER OF ST RICHARD:

"Thanks be to you, O Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits which you have given us, for all the pains and insults which you have borne for us. O merciful Redeemer, Friend, and Brother, may we know you more clearly, love you more dearly, and follow you more nearly, now and for evermore AMEN."

Doesn't she look like her mother?

Clairi sings with such a loud voice. She loves to sing
